The Zünd
Night Before Christmas

’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house.
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The staff had gone home, the air was chill.
The lights had gone out, the showroom was still.

Midst in the stillness, a change came around.
A stir in the corner, a rising humming sound.

The cutters started up – the robots came alive.
They had a task to do, for Christmas to arrive.

Like elves in Santa’s workshop, they all went to work.
Nesting in cardboard, cutting and routing.
Lifting and moving, creasing and grooving.

Gifts to Zünd customers, they were to create.
There was no time to waste – the hour was late!

All through the night they laboured, till the light of dawn.
When the staff checked in and the curtains were drawn.

The gifts were lined up, all perfectly steady.
All what was left was to pack and make ready.

We heard them exclaim, as they gleamed in the light,

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,
AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT
